Wow, reading that article, where differences in the church are dividing up families against each other, the rumoured power play the church may pull on the dissidents who split over a sex abuse case to force them back to the fold or out of the town, dividing up town residents against each other, brings that Christopher Hitchens quote into sharp focus for me:

And they get to do that riding the tax free gravy train. It’s time to take them off of welfare. Tax the churches!
