OT, but interesting news for you news hounds in the Mountain West. The editorial staff of the Casper (WY) Star-Tribune has successfully unionized as a unit of the Denver News Guild. Apparently, the management (Lee Enterprises owns the paper) was cooperative.

I worked on that paper right after college, before it was sold to Lee. The editorial staff was no more than 20 people at the time. Still, unionizing a small city daily in a staunchly Republican state is quite a breakthrough.
