This is why they are so fond of the idea of businessmen running the country. Most CEO’s are dictators who value a person based on their financial worth (i.e. the shareholders); the poor and middle class can be ignored because they are irrelevant.

A businessman is interested in minimizing costs to maximize profits.

Things like education, health care, safety, environmental protection, etc., are seen as cost factors to be minimized, and not as investments in a healthy, well educated, productive and well-structured society.

We have seen the results of that approach.
