Christians More Supportive of Torture Than Non-Religious Americans

American Christians have effectively created a brand new religion the past 150 years. It is American-centric, idealized on a rural, usually Southern-based point of view. Gone is the merciful, multicultural figure of Jesus as told in the Bible. It is all based on the Paulian figure of political and denominational unity to achieve a territorial and ideological goal.

Part of the ideology is substituting the notion of the Noble (White Southern) American as a substitute for the classical Jesus martyr figure and the Rapture/End Times as the objective to achieve. It is this new religion that has taken control of a large part of American religious fervor and political and business reins of power. Torture is merely a means to achieve an end. And when following the Paulian religious tradition perfectly acceptable.
