I’ve changed flats in the middle of nowhere, I’ve patched up tubes in the middle of the desert. You know what sucks? When your chain breaks! I’ve put together a broken chain miles away from the nearest town. And don’t even get me started on drivetrains! Derailleurs, chain rings, and cassettes, those things are fuckin’ finicky!

If you mountain bike long enough, you get to be pretty good at bicycle maintenance.

I have a road-ish bike with big fat wheels. I mean, not like HUGELY fat wheels, but not the skinny little road bike wheels either.

A casual bike, really.

I want to take it over to the coast and do some riding there but I also want to run some of those paths too. Except that’s a long drive to then go for a run. I’m lazy. The fewer obstacles between me and going for a run, the more likely the run is to happen.
