I’ve noticed a handful of Republicans saying that Moore needs to get out now (using their “if true” proviso). In a way, they’re the smart ones.

For instance, earlier today, Mitch McConnell said Moore should step aside (again, with that “if true” thrown in). I’m no mind-reader, nor do I claim to be, but I’m fairly sure that McConnell wants Moore to get out now while there’s still sufficient time to get another more viable candidate to replace him. Moore, however, is - if nothing else - a stubborn old bastard, and perhaps it might well be better from a strategic point-of-view for him to stay where he is. There’s a possibility of winning a Senate seat here with Moore as the candidate, albeit, a slim one. But it’s possible that while Moore’s Talibangelical followers won’t desert him, other less fanatical voters might be so repelled that they’ll stay home.

Plus…..this really energizes Democratic voters in Alabama.
