I really wish Obama would stop talking about health care. That’s not what he’s trying to get passed. He wants universal health insurance.

As others have said here, access to health care is rarely the issue (although I understand there are some rural areas where it’s more difficult than in metro areas). It’s the cost.

Okay, so Obama spends trillions to insure those who currently don’t have health insurance. Whether they want it or not.

So what’s the problem? He’ll bankrupt the system, just as politicians have already done to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. To attempt to stave that off, he’ll be forced to ration not health care per se, but reimbursement for certain tests, services, and so forth.

But what does that mean? The quality and availability of health care in the U.S. will plummet not in spite of, but because of, the actions he’s proposing to take.

This is madness.
