re: #220 Irish Rose

He does have some retail management experience to fall back on.
It may help.

But yeah, he knows. Up here in Michigan even the low-wage job openings are flooded with hundreds of resumes. People are hungry and desperate up here, losing their homes and livelihoods along with everything else. Families are being forced to split up just to survive. It’s tragic.

Meanwhile, the assholes in Washington are too busy dicking around with the healthcare bill to be concerned about people who are hungry, destitute and being forced onto the streets with their children. A lot of people who have exhausted their unemployment benefits and now have no income, have no idea how they’re going to buy food and pay for heat this winter… and it’s getting very cold up here.

No kidding, don’t I know, this has been a 5 year trek for me (and I know, many others), since I was laid off. And what are they bragging about in D.C.? 16 billions spent to create (or save) 30,000 jobs. Hooverville here we come.

The first direct stimulus reports showed that stimulus contracts saved or created just 30,083 jobs, prompting more Republican criticism of the $787 billion package.

The data posted Thursday was the result of the government’s initial attempt at counting actual stimulus jobs. Obama administration officials stressed that data was partial — it represented just $16 billion out of the $339 billion awarded — but they said it exceeded their projections.
