I unwittingly ate goat a couple of years ago. My friend and I were at our favorite restaurant in Mykonos, sitting at the bar waiting for our table and while chatting with the bartender (it’s a family owned restaurant and we’ve been going for years), she put a plate of “nosh” down and we ate it. Only later did I find out it wasn’t lamb (which is what it tasted like to me). Very tender.

My brother’s dog ate our neighbor’s goat.

Well… actually, he ate half the goat. Left the other half on their front lawn. We weren’t rural people, this was an upscale suburb and neighbor-girl had a pet for her 4H project.

The dog was gone the next day. Dad told us he gave it to the Army… but in hindsight, I’m pretty sure that was a lie.
