re: #82 Targetpractice

It’s like I’ve said before, the sort of morons buying into this shit are the same ones who get snookered by late-night infomercials for “Super Beet” gummies and “Green Power” smoothies, the ones who are overweight and smoke like a chimney but insist they’re “perfectly healthy” because they’re guzzling some “wonder food” each morning before gorging on fast food and sodas. The ones who will buy a bottle of baby asprin because their doc advises them to take it to avoid heart issues, but ignore the same advice to cut back their cholesterol intake or give up smoking because “I feel fine.” These are the sorts of folks who latch on “miracle cures,” because they don’t want to prevent health issues, they just want a “Get Out of Jail Free” card for bad behavior.

I confess I am doing something similar. In response to my terrible tinnitus, the doctors say “grin and bear it”. After seeing an online ad for a herbal supplement that supposedly helps, I started taking it. Maybe the help it provides is basically psychological, but my internist did say the ingredients are harmless. So it may be a waste of money — but affordable.
