re: #179 Holidays are Family Fun Time

I wasn’t thrilled with the first of the Earthsea books by Ursula Le Guin. The writing was very good, I just didn’t care for the story.

If you’re rather liking the triffids, I’ll take you a different route. Try World War Z. Yes, it’s a zombie uprising book. So what?

Going sideways from there I recently finished the newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant. I really enjoyed feed and recommend it without reservation. I recommend the other two as well as they’re pretty good, just not as good as the first book. (It’s an odd feeling. They’re pretty good and if you like the concept they’re fun. But they’re not as good as the first book, and in some ways that makes them worse yet.)
