Mia Love, Allen West, and Ben Carson appear to be the big 3 that GOPers will go to as proof that they can make inroads with the African American community.

The problem is that they’re significant outliers - who reject nearly everything that the African American community holds important.

I’ve made this observation before but racial minority GOPers seem to “comphensate” by taking outlandish positions. Take Carson for example or Alan Keyes before him and all three of these you mentioned are incredibly bigoted towards gays, Muslims, and non-Christians. So yeah the GOP loves to strut out that they have African-American members who are bigots in their own way.
