OK: I won’t claim any more expertise on the international wine trade than can be found at the bottom of a bottle of decent Bordeaux - BUT:
Does the Idiot really think that EU tariffs are a reason for lagging US exports of wine? To France? SRSLY? That France, Spain and Italy (EU) produce so much wine every year that they need supports to deal with oversupply might have something to do with it? That the production/marketing costs of EU/US wineries make exports of pretty much anything except top-of-the-line “boutique” vintages noncompetitive due to structural economies? And matters of taste: does he really think he’s going to help our balance of trade by getting Gallo to sell tons of Hearty Burgundy IN Burgundy??
