Tit: perhaps a corruption of the French ‘petit’.

Which would makes sense, considering the average Parisian woman is generally small breasted… the topless revue shows in Paris normally hires Swedish woman and other ethnic females who tend towards naturally larger chest sizes… because the more petit French woman do not attract tourists.

That was first explained to me in Lonely Planet Paris guide book.
