I’ve always considered getting a gun, but have finally decided I have to rule it out for myself, no matter how bad things get. If the Stormtrumpers show up at my door, there ain’t anything my line peashooter will do about it. Besides, I’ve got periodic depression (a bit worse while I’m unemployed) and occasional suicidal ideation, so it wouldn’t be smart.

If I lived in Arizona again, I would probably own a .22 pistol loaded with snake shot (basically mini-shotgun shells) to scare off any rattlesnakes I could not get out of the way of quickly enough. But for no other purpose than that.
