Somebody - a teacher, parent, preacher, whomever, either directly coerced the boy into it or indirectly via the some libertarian poison like Atlas Shrugged. My guess is direct coercion because they wanted to show they’re better than those “others” picking on their special president. < barf >

I suspect the parents talked a lot about the sacrifices President Trump was making in order to take office, like giving up all of his businesses and his TV show. The kid, being nine, interpreted this has Trump becoming poor, and the parents encouraged it.
