So, David Leonhardt writes an op-ed for the NYT, saying Conservatism has a violence problem (NO SHIT!)

Seth Mandel, who I seem to recall is otherwise fairly awful, posts a Twitter thread saying “He has a point”, that the violent imagery, calls for violence, and actual violence are really asymmetrical.

The responses are amazing for the lack of sense - basically equating the MULTIPLE instances of Trump-inspired terrorists with ONE instance of the guy who shot at the Republican softball team practice. Or equating Joe Biden’s joking about fighting Trump with Trump’s laughing at the idea of shooting migrants.

The idea that ONE instance balances a SERIES of instances is just… amazing.
