I hate to say it but I used to think the idea that the Sanders campaign were willing tools was absurd and they were just overly zealous in their support for candidate and their cause but I really think Sanders has in his own way hurt American democracy too by having a campaign staff that approaches democracy the same way Trump does. And I think that’s part of why you’ve seen me despair about our political culture lately. I really thought the left was better than that.

We never dealt with the actual Jacobin left before because they stayed outside Democratic party politics and grumbled amongst themselves.

Now they are here and insisting we are a bigger enemy than Trump and the neo fascists (which is what the socialists did in Germany in the late 20s)
