I’m not familiar with CSAs … are you in a city or something? But I’m like your wife — I can grind my own flour, cornmeal, and meat if I have to. Also have a dehydrator for stuff that dries well. Canning, yes, that’s a given — I plan to start doing a bunch of stews as meats go on sale.
When (or if) it gets really bad, we live on a farm, and if the deer start going after crops, I’m sure the owner/neighbor/landlord will want help protecting his crops. That’ll be a good addition to the protein supply.
