It was simply to fuck Obama over. Really petty shit. Even after the election of 1800, the Anti Federalists didn’t stop John Adams from appointing John Marshall. The GOP by how they treated Garland created a dangerous precedent. Sucks for Gorsuch but you know what, the GOP pulled shady shit and this is what they deserve in retaliation for it.
