Was there any way for the Dems to keep Kavanaugh off the court by pursuing his financial irregularities and his perjury during the pre-Ford hearings? It was the Trump’s handling of the Ford hearings that really solidified the Republican Senate and may have doomed some Democratic Senators in the November election.

If things had stayed focused on his financial dealings, it might have gotten too rough for him, because he wasn’t able to explain the sudden payoff of his debts. It was certainly making people uncomfortable. That’s why the right was actually willing to run with the other stuff, he-said-are-you-going-to-believe-what-she-said. But that’s speculation now.
