It’s Huntington Beach a hotspot of the Antivaxers.

In George Pal’s 1953 version of War of the Worlds, the second Martian machine to land comes down in Huntington Beach. This prompted an Army officer at the first landing place, (some undefined but close by part of rural California) to quip “That’s a job for the Navy!” The action in HB was not shown but it is unlikely that the Earth forces there fared any better than their colleagues at the original site once the Martians deployed their heat rays.

Correction, the original landing site is indeed identified as near Linda Rosa in Riverside County. It no longer exists.
