The reason the likes of Ramos have this idea that humans have to toil 24/7 lay in the very primitive programming we still have in our genes.

We are still hunter-gatherers, just that for the past few thousand years we’ve decided to live a settled life and do agriculture.

Ramos is not just playing on the your-lazy-that’s-why-you’re-poor beliefs of the right.

He’s also deeply appealing to the you’re-not-a-real-man accusation, that somehow you’ve failed your manhood by not providing.

As a Millenial, I’ve learned in the past 20 years that I and my entire generation are the cause of the downfall of Western civilization. According to the Ramos’ of the West, we’re a bunch of entitled brats that don’t want to work 16 hr days to ensure our employers see perpetual growth in their stock value, don’t want to spend the 8 hours we’re allowed a day to raise the regulation nuclear family (husband/wife & 2.5 kids) to maintain a steady stream of consumers, and we’ve the audacity to think that we should be looking out for ourselves first instead of spending whatever little time we have on raising those kids to be good, God-fearing assets for our corporate masters.
