Good article. I remain surprised that they didn’t hold another Brexit referendum that lays down specifics to what it means to the UK to leave the EU. Specifics and costs, as well as the number of people required to vote for it to be valid and the number required to say they will actually leave the EU.

What the UK is doing is shooting itself in the foot over a non-binding vote where the proponents immediately said all the BS they said up to the original vote was just that, BS.

To say that is shocking is an understatement of epic proportions. Yes Boris Johnson remains popular.

Like with the Scottish Independence Referendum, which also left too many open questions, but was turned down at the time because it would have meant leaving the EU and having to apply for membership.

Brexit, like the Trump campaign, was just a blank canvas on which people could project their wishes of what they wanted the UK to look like; free of foreigners, with “UK first” trade deals, etc…
