The Republicans could not count on him, the Democrats much less so.

If Flake is serious about trying to get the GOP to clean up its act, there could be no better way for him to send that message than to switch parties, blame that on the sewer the Republicans have become, and tell the GOP donor class that they have lost his vote for tax cuts because of the cesspit of Satan they have created.

Edited to add: trusting Flake has nothing to do with this.
