This is probably cold of me, not nice at all. I can’t feel for any of them, not in the face of the kids without Obamacare, parents getting uselessly drug screened for safety net benefits and in the face of the Trump family contempt for all the little people. He will see his father disgraced and jailed. At that moment I may have sympathy for him.

Compassion, altruism really, is all that keeps us from being like them. Share it even with them - for does not even the tax collector love those who love them? Loving our neighbor as we love ourselves is hard and made all the harder when they are our enemy. But that is the lesson to remember.
