NPR had an interview with an food scientist about entomophagy being the future of feeding the human race, what with the increasing population and overall inefficiency of meat sources as is. The way he put it was (paraphrasing) “…more and more products are going to list larger and larger percentages of animal protein on the nutrition info, and it won’t be from quadripeds. You’re going to be eating bugs whether you realize it or not.”

If you take bugs, soak them in beef or chicken broth or cure it, give it a fancy name and add it to hot dogs or bologna, no one will know.
