What kind of meat is London Broil? Is there a cut called that or is it something else?

London Broil isn’t cut from a specific part of the steer, but it gets the name from the way it’s prepared.
Typically, “London broil” is made from skirt steak, but the name refers to how it’s made (which isn’t from Britain at all, but from here).
Not to argue just for arguments’ sake, but isn’t “London Broil” typically a thick cut of round steak, not the skirt?
(PS: the stuff at Taylor’s still looks good: whatever its provenance)
