2001 was an art film with a science fiction motif. Turned off a lot of moviegoers, while inspiring a generation of moviemakers. Both it and Lawrence of Arabia would still be a challenge for 21st century viewers to sit through, because their pacing is much more leisurely, which makes the flicks longer than normal. But the cinematography for each is amazeballs.
