I had to go to Home Depot the other day for some hardware, and got that same vibe. It’s like everyone is just beaten down by this thing. I said it the other day - it’s how I imagined living in the old Soviet Union would have felt.

And maybe that’s Trump’s real goal - to demoralize everyone to the point where we just give up and let them steal everything.

I haven’t had that experience out here on the left coast. Maybe we’re just incorrigible optimists.
