i read them both and the comments

it’s about who gets ‘recognized’ first in daily business
i have three takeaways

- it seems constitutionally to be pretty clearly defined what the vp’s role is and this sits squarely within
- as compared that to what we’ve come to accept which is nothing more than agreed ‘custom’ that only goes back to 1937 and is not documented in the senate rules (ie the ‘majority leader’ runs things)
- it would take a lot of guts to try it

I don’t think Harris is lacking in the guts department.
