Yeah, I posted a link to The Economist article here yesterday. Stunning, really.

They did have the grace (or at least theintelligence) to fully retract and apologize for it today. Which is slightly a shame, because they delete the comments as well as the article. And the comments actually gave me some hope for the human race.
