I couldn’t agree more. “Today’s generation shackled to the words of their ancestors,” indeed.

The current French constitution has been amended 24 times since 1958. And that requires the consent of both Chambers.

We have a severe case of ancestor worship in the US. The founding fathers were a bunch of smart guys, but they weren’t omniscient. A lot of people seem to think the words of people livin in an agrarian state, founded on quit a few repellent ideals, should never be amended.
