yeah I was pretty insecure about the attention, so I have said not too much but what the hell…it’s a technical thing more or less, I’m not dying…I’m getting set, doing research etc, trying to set myself up for the big chop…and my ex is here to help, she’s a RN too…she will move right into the bunkhouse…there is really nothing to hide, but my tough, independent nature has taken a huge hit

Yah, the macho male, independent soul bit has been drilled into us pretty convincingly over the years and giving up that self image can be quite the kick in the balls. It’s really good you and the ex get along well enough she’s willing to help, most ex-relationships can’t say that. If I remember my Psych well enough, the best way of dealing with the worry and stress of something like that is to research the shit out of it and talk with as many others with similar experience as possible. Sounds like your doing what you can to help yourself.
