And don’t tell me violence, we have already had a number of attacks by conservatives on Liberals. And the influence of the Tea Partiers and their ilk on Breivik means I count Utoya as a violent episode.

The current conservative movement in the US has been wielding power from all three branches of government for years. The Muslim Brotherhood has mostly functioned outside of official channels of power, until their recent, short-lived episode in Egypt. The power they wield in Gaza is also non-official, since Hamas is the recognized entity.
