Well, there was that gunman at the Jewish Museum of Belgium who shot 4 people, killing 3. He used a full-auto AKM assault rifle, which is illegal in Belgium, and only legal in the US if the full-auto rifle was registered prior to May of 1986 (and even then there are firm registration requirements). But that asshole didn’t care about the law and found a smuggled-in with which to mount his rampage.

So yeah, it’s first and foremost about the state of mind of the killer. A gun does not massacre people without a human being pulling its trigger.

The number of mass shootings in the US overwhelms all other Western nations combined. You don’t think that has anything to do with a fetishistic gun culture and the sheer number and ease of availability of firearms?
