It’s the far-right mirror to all those on the far-left running around, insisting that COVID-19 swamping hospitals and killing people left and right is somehow “proof” that universal healthcare is needed immediately because everybody would be safe. Both sides are seeing in this crisis vindication that their worldview is the only correct one.

The death rate from COVID would likely be lower if more people had had access to better health care before the epidemic hit.

And our entire for-profit approach to healthcare is not designed to cope with this situation, whereas a more “socialized” approach would likely be.
