Former king of Spain Juan Carlos has suddenly left the country. The BBC is being coy about where he’s at (bbc.com) but Agence France-Presse retweeted an article stating Juan Carlos has basically fled to the Dominican Republic. bangkokpost.com

Now why, you ask, is Juan Carlos in exile? The allegation is that Juan Carlos somehow received funds after Spanish firms won a contract to build a multi-billion dollar rail link between Mecca and Madinah in Saudi Arabia. These funds were stashed in a Swiss bank account. Juan Carlos claims to be available for investigators.

But it is just so much more comfortable to be available overseas…
