John Roberts has lost the court.
And his “legacy.”

to be fair, it’s not all his fault - he doesnt choose the makeup of the court.

now, when the balance has been forced to be so one sided and with obviously agenda driven zealots, John sitting there “calling balls and strikes” is gonna look all kinds of foolish.

- Decisions can now be predicted.
- The very cases likely to come before it can be predicted with a great degree of certainty.
Therefore the court has lost its legitimacy.

The court is not there as a last resort to undo social history that you can’t pass legislatively because there is no popular support.

Clearly revisiting and dismantling 50-100+ years of decisions is not going to be a great legacy for him.

While Johnny didn’t lose the court, he will be remembered as the man presiding over a lost court.
