Former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau successfully maintained that the State has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. Largely as a result, we tend to see far less of these vile public displays of partisan sexual “outings” in Canadian society than in the US. The substantial differences between the American psyche and Canada’s are highlighted by such frequent and open displays of religious and sexual hypocrisy, especially when brazenly used for partisan political purposes.
