Sorry wind, but some things must be considered as always beyond the pale. I can understand (or at least try to understand) how Turner could have felt as he did, but to understand is distinct from to excuse. Someone who does what Turner did, no matter what the reason, must be forever removed from society. I would have no problem with lifetime confinement and then making their prison comfortable as can be safely done, but there are certain acts that cannot be tolerated ever.

I think your problem is that the murders weren’t anonymous, they were up close and personal. Many innocent children have undoubtedly been killed by our country in recent history through various standoff weapons, carpet bombings, etc. and all you do is make excuses. Dead is dead.
