I think it’s perfectly fair to point out that producing meat costs a lot more in terms of resources than vegetarian stuff does. But some vegetarian stuff also costs a lot more in resources than other vegetarian stuff, so if that’s the calculus, it’s not just an easy meat/vegetables division. In addition, the way stuff is raised, how far it’s had to transport to get to you, all of these are also costs that would have to be figured in.

I think people should eat less processed food, because it’s better on every level, from the environmental to the economic to the health-wise, but aside from advocating it to people I know and like I’m not going to do much about it.
