Maybe it will still be there, but as I do my retirement planning (as one of the younger Lizards), I’m not counting on it.

I’ll happily take it as bonus money and reduce the amount I have to pull out of my investments, meaning they can last longer, but nowhere do I plan on having an income of $x from SS.

I’ve been paying into SS since 1965. And ever since then I’ve been hearing SS would be bankrupt long before I would be able to collect a dime at retirement.
I am now preparing my paperwork to start drawing benefits next summer.
