I don’t get the dissatisfaction with the media. The media did its job. The voters had everything they needed to know to know what they were voting for. His election wasn’t a win for ignorance, it was a win for malice.

Among other things, the Trump candidacy and upcoming presidency is a media creation. Trump got something like $2 billion in free coverage during the GOP primary. That should not have happened.
