Perhaps he panicked. I assume because of his age, he’s not as experienced a liar as his Daddy. He’ll get better with age though. Just wait and see.

I think they are moving to the “Yeah we did it, so what?” defense because there’s too much info coming out from all over. “We have nothing to hide” looks better than “We are hiding stuff” when it’s obvious you’ve done something wrong.

The truth is the GOP and their voters are mostly OK with this, and will let them get away with it.
