I saw them in the late 70’s. (told this before, but let me re-live it!)

It was WILD. We drove from North Palm Beach to Ft Lauderdale on a school night.

I dyed my hair purple with food coloring, had a thrift shop 50’s dress & those plastic shoes. My date wore ripped white jeans.

We were freaking out the whole drive down thinking we would look so ridiculous.

Get there & see a girl wearing a top and pantyhose, nothing underneath.

We were tame.

This was when they held the toy piano for the ping ping ping ping.

I’ll never forget it.

They were already royalty in Athens by the time I got to college in Atlanta and somehow never saw them. I also missed Pylon (damnit). I saw REM in a small club once (and they came to my friend’s freshman comp class—I filled in for him that day and got to hear Michael and Peter talk about their second album). Swimming Pool Qs were constant favorites. And I had classes with the Indigo Girls (and saw them many times when they were just getting started).
