I really do not think career politician and Washington insider worked against Hillary as much as just outright hatred for her.

A lot of DT’s appeal was with people who reject Washington “insider politics as usual”, which is why DT was able to pretty much do or say anything because doing so made him the epitome of the “anti-politician”.
