Today’s “journalists” appear to want their cake and eat it too — to be nice to the politicians in hope of someone giving them some scoop or in hope of being anointed as some kind of oracle of the White House. Old school journalists expected nothing of the kind. They knew they had to play the same game as the politicians in order to do their job.

Appreciate your take on Maggie - she does no analysis - comes up with a pithy statement - the end.

The journalists of today - see a need to give “both sides” the time of day. They are unable or not interested in realizing that one side is B.S. and truth does have a liberal leaning. Major outlets keep employing people to push the RW line - even if they know it is all lies. Wapo & MSNBC are prime examples. Today journalist jobs are much harder to get and retain - perhaps this is the reason why people act like Maggie - it keeps their job.
