Bingo. He got called a ‘bed bug’. Which is infinitely tamer than the abuse slung at millions of users, openly, and usually encouraged by the likes of Stephens under the guise of ‘free speech’. When he got called out for trying to ruin someone’s career for it, he ran and hid and then complained about how he was being persecuted with ‘dehumanizing language’, comparing the reactions to him to ‘totalitarian regimes’. It shows it’s no ‘coming to Jesus’ moment, it’s his bruised privilege.

Basically his final tweet was that sort of swan song anybody who has spent time on political BBSs in the past will be familiar with: the passive aggressive nature of criticizing how “toxic” or “mean” the board has become, the insincere “apologies” for having taken part in it, and the empty “apologies” to those few friends they still have for why they’re being “forced” to leave.
