This has been another episode of How to Read a Trump Comment.™️
I renew my advice to journalists: Always report Trump statements, claims, plans, etc. as “purported.” You’ll never be wrong, and almost always end up looking prescient. https://t.co/gKmc66RN6q— David Waldman-1, of Yorktown LLC™ (@KagroX) November 30, 2019
Why would anyone ever report something that Trump said as being true, when we all know full well that waiting two days will reveal it to be false?
Avoid this problem—and still do your job correctly—by simply reporting that Trump “purports” that the Taliban wants a deal. https://t.co/gKmc66RN6q— David Waldman-1, of Yorktown LLC™ (@KagroX) November 30, 2019
Sage advice.
